You can combine your employer-based plan and add REDEEM HealthShare for extra peace of mind and convenience for your health care cost needs. Combing the two works well when you find yourself in one of these unique circumstances:
- Your employer offers healthcare coverage for you but not for your family.
- Your deductible is higher than you would like.
- Your health plan does not include your preferred provider.
If you have insurance and are also a member of REDEEM HealthShare Ministry, then REDEEM HealthShare will always be secondary. This means that when you have a medical need, your provider will first submit the bill to your primary insurance.
Once the primary insurance has processed the payment, the provider will submit a copy of the explanation of benefits along with the remaining charges to REDEEM. Next, REDEEM processes the bill according to the Sharing Guidelines. Your REDEEM Annual Unshared Amount (AUA) and any co-share applies.
