Sharing Eligibility When You Travel Outside the United States

This article explains how REDEEM HealthShare shares medical expenses for members who travel outside the United States. 

Information 

Sharing eligibility differs based on the REDEEM® program you participate in.

REDEEM® SeniorSaver 

Care outside of the U.S. is not eligible for sharing if you participate in REDEEM SeniorSaver.

REDEEM® Essential and REDEEM® Enhanced                               

REDEEM HealthShare shares medical expenses you might incur while traveling outside the U.S. You must provide itemized bills based on the requirements listed in Guidelines – 3.6 Approved Sharing of Bills. You must translate the information into English and convert the price into U.S. dollars. See Guidelines ‒ 3.10 Limited Sharing 3.10.12 Medical Care Outside of the United Sates for requirements to share bills.

Note: Members must have a U.S.-based VPN to access the Member Center for bill submission while traveling.
