Understanding Sponsorship Roles and Responsibilities

The table below provides definitions of Sponsorship roles and responsibilities.

Role Terminology Responsibility Description
Sponsor The company, organization, or incorporation responsible for payments of the Sponsorship. Sponsors may have multiple groups within their Sponsorship. 
Authorized Representative 

The individual with:

  • visibility of payments and member statuses.
  • access to the Sponsor Center for managing your groups. 
Group Administrator

Individual appointed by the Authorized Representative who:

  • oversees the management of a group.
  • manage the group payments
  • verify the enrollment status of individual members in his or her group.
  • assist with troubleshooting and compliance.
Sponsored Members Individuals and households within your group sponsorship participate in the REDEEM® Sharing Program with access to their personal information only. 

REDEEM® Groups provide sponsors with the freedom to set up and manage multiple groups under one Sponsorship within their Sponsor Center.

Example one: John Doe may own multiple businesses that he wishes to Sponsor, but he wants to use separate forms of payment for accounting purposes. John Doe can set up one group for his construction company, a second group for his dog walking business, and a third group for his real estate business.

Example two: John Doe owns a contracting company. He may wish to have separate groups for each of the departments within his company.
