Understanding and submitting a balance bill

The information in this article provides an industry definition of balance bill and how to submit the balance bill.

On occasion, a situation may occur where REDEEM™ HealthShare Ministry has already processed your eligible and shared bill, but the provider sends you a bill requesting additional payment—over the amount listed on your Explanation of Sharing (EOS)— known as balance bill. If you receive a balance bill, please submit that to REDEEM.

To submit the balance bill, follow these steps:

1. Sign into REDEEM™ HealthShare, the Member Center automatically opens.
2. From the menu, select My Medical Bills.
3. Select Submit Bills (New).
4. Select Balance Bill.
5. Complete the remaining the required fields.
6. Select Next.
7. Type the information in the required fields.
8. Upload the balance bill statement and these additional supporting documents, if available:
   • explanation of sharing (EOS)
   • proof of payment receipt
9. Select I agree to the Consent terms.
10. Click Submit.
