Understanding and submitting a balance bill

A situation may occur where REDEEM™ HealthShare Ministry has already processed your bill using referenced-based pricing. On occasion, a provider may send you a bill requesting additional payment—over the amount listed on your Explanation of Sharing (EOS), which is known as a balance bill. As a member of REEDEM™ Essential, you must pay the co-share portion of your bill before submitting a balance bill.

To submit the balance bill, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into REDEEM™ HealthShare. The Member Center automatically opens.
  2. From the menu, select My Medical Bills.
  3. Select Submit Bills.
  4. Select Balance Bill.
  5. Complete the additional required questions.
    • 2. Member that Incurred Expenses
    • 3. Has the bill been paid in full or partially paid?
    • 4. For your reference, give this bill a nick name.
  6. Select Next. The Submit a Balance Bill screen displays.
  7. Type your Additional Information into the required fields.
  8. Upload the balance bill statement and these additional supporting documents, if available:
    • Balance Bill Statement
    • EOS, if available
    • Proof of Payment Receipt, if available
    • Consent for us to reach out to your Provider on your behalf
  9. Select I agree to the Consent terms.
  10. Click Submit. A pop-up note Need is submitted successfully displays.
