Changes to Your Share Amount
Introduction
Certain life events or membership updates might affect your monthly share amount. For a qualifying life event, you must contact the ministry within 30 days of the event. If you want to switch programs or change your Annual Unshareable Amount (AUA) level you may do so within 30 days of your anniversary month.
The information below outlines the most common reasons your monthly share amount might increase or decrease.
Information
The following qualifying life events will cause a change in your monthly Share amount:
- Adding or removing members from your membership (birth, adoption, or child aging out).
- Change in annual adjustments made based on the age of the oldest member in your household.
- Change in marital status
- Loss of employment
- Loss of spouse
- Turning 65 and would like to join REDEEM® Senior Saver
- Adding the FlexShare option
- Changing AUA level
- Switching programs
Note: A switching fee might apply. For information about your AUA, see Guidelines – IV.D Changing Programs.
The cost calculator can help you understand how making changes to your membership would change the Monthly Share Amount based on the program choice and the AUA amount you choose.
As a member of REDEEM HealthShare, reading and understanding the Sharing Guidelines is important.
