As a REDEEM™ HealthShare member, there are no networks which means you get to choose which provider you want to see. Your healthcare is in your hands.
With REDEEM™ HealthShare Ministry you have the flexibility to choose a provider or hospital without restrictions. While you have the freedom to choose your providers, please review Eligibility requirements for sharing when seeing a medical specialist.
This overview provides you with general information about billing instructions for both your provider and you. In addition, it offers a simple description of sharing eligibility.
Billing instructions for you and your provider
For any medical visit, follow these best practices:
- Present your REDEEM™ HealthShare membership card to your medical provider first.
- Most providers can submit your bill electronically, just show them the EDI number located on the back of the membership card.
- Ask your provider to add REDEEM™ HealthShare to their system.
- Provide any information you have from REDEEM™ HealthShare for those unfamiliar with health sharing, like explaining that REDEEM™ HealthShare is not insurance.
- Inform the provider to send the bills within 12 months from the date you receive the service to be eligible for sharing.
REDEEM™ HealthShare understands that not all providers use an electronic system, or technical difficulties may arise when making the submission. For times when you need to upload your bills through the Member Center, see Submitting your medical bills.
Determining eligibility for bill sharing
Member Care Specialists review the medical bills for eligibility and financial limitations.
- You must first pay your Annual Unshared Amount (AUA) before eligible bills can be shared. The AUA resets annually on your membership anniversary date.
- Once approved, the bill is published to the community, and contributions from other members are matched to cover the cost.
Discuss your health care plan with your doctor to make sure the services are eligible under the Guidelines – III.A. Eligible for Sharing. As a member of REDEEM reading and understanding the Sharing Guidelines is important.
