Our Purpose

To glorify God by growing and equipping disciples of Jesus Christ to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love and care for their neighbor as themselves. (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 12:28-31; Matt. 22:36-40)

Our Mission

To redeem health care by helping the Body of Christ love one another through sharing each other's health care burdens while experiencing authentic Biblical community. (Gal. 6:2, Phil. 2:3-4; Romans 12:10, 12, 13, 15; Jn. 13:34-35)

A legacy of sharing

When Ted Pittenger started Samaritan Ministries in 1994, he had a vision for Jesus followers one-anothering in a practical way that would have the potential to help redeem health care.

While on earth, Jesus often healed the sick. In essence, He ministered to people in need by offering them both practical and physical healing combined with spiritual awakening and compassion.

As members of Jesus’ Church who follow His example, Samaritan Ministries members have been caring for one another for 30 years through financial support while at the same time offering spiritual encouragement during times of crisis and celebration.

From the beginning, Ted saw God’s Church as being able to address health care burdens better than the government or an insurance company ever could. Bound by our unity in Christ, we’re together addressing the kinds of needs close to Jesus' heart, and helping to redeem health care in the process.

Today under the leadership of Mark Zander, comes REDEEM HealthShare, Samaritan Ministries’ next generation of health care sharing.
